The Parker-South Metro Fire Rescue Authority was formed May 1, 2008, by intergovernmental agreement between South Metro Fire Rescue and the Parker Fire Protection District.  It is the intent of that agreement to operate as a fire authority while working towards a full legal merger of the two fire districts.
